Florida pool barrier code is strict for a reason, and getting it wrong creates legal liability and failed inspections. EZ Fence Company Repair & Install specializes in pool fence installation across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County. We install aluminum pool fencing, frameless glass pool barriers and removable mesh child-safety pool fence — all engineered to meet or exceed Florida pool safety code (FBC R4501) and the Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act.
Florida pool fence code basics
Pool barriers in Florida must be at least 48 inches tall, have no openings larger than 4 inches, no climbable horizontal members within the regulated zone, and gates must self-close and self-latch with the latch hardware mounted at a code-compliant height. The pool itself must be separated from the home by a barrier, even if the home is fully fenced. We size every component to meet code on the first inspection.
Aluminum pool fence (permanent)
Powder-coated aluminum is the most popular permanent pool fence because it looks great, never rusts, never needs paint and meets every barrier-code requirement when installed at proper height with proper gate hardware. Black is the most popular color. We typically install 5-foot pool-grade aluminum with self-closing/self-latching pool gates.
Glass pool fence (frameless or semi-frameless)
For high-end properties where you don't want to interrupt the view of the pool or landscape, frameless tempered-glass pool fence is the premium option. We install 12mm tempered safety glass with stainless steel spigots or marine-grade aluminum top channel. Beautiful, fully code-compliant, and dramatic.
Removable mesh pool fence (child safety)
Removable mesh pool fence is the right answer for homes with young children where you need a sectioned-off barrier around the pool that can be taken down for parties or family use. We install professional-grade removable mesh fence with self-closing/self-latching gates, fully meeting Florida child-safety code.
Permits and inspection
Every pool fence project we do is permitted and inspected. We schedule the city inspection, walk it with the inspector and make sure your fence passes without callbacks. This is critical — many handyman pool fence installs fail inspection on hardware mounting height or gate self-closing behavior.
Why pool fence is not a DIY project in Florida
Pool barrier code is enforced because failed pool barriers cost lives. We have installed enough pool fence in Pembroke Pines, Weston, Miramar, Davie, Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Boca Raton and across the tri-county area to know exactly what passes inspection and what doesn't. You want the fence that passes the first time.
