Chain link is still the most cost-effective way to enclose a property in South Florida. Here's what it actually costs in 2025, with all the variables explained.

Residential galvanized chain link

Standard 4–6 foot residential galvenized chain link typically runs $12–$25 per linear foot installed in the tri-county area. That's complete — fabric, posts, top rail, hardware, labor, permit.

Vinyl-coated (black, green, brown)

Add roughly $5–$10 per linear foot for vinyl coating. Black is the most popular and disappears visually into landscaping.

Commercial 9-gauge chain link

Heavier 9-gauge commercial mesh, taller heights (6–8'+) and stronger posts run $25–$50 per linear foot depending on specs.

Gates

Single residential walk gate: $300–$600 installed. Double-drive 12' swing gate: $700–$1,400. Rolling cantilever commercial slide gate: $2,500+ depending on length and automation.

Add-ons

Privacy slats: $4–$8 per linear foot. Windscreen: $2–$5 per linear foot. Barbed wire (commercial): $3–$6 per linear foot. Concrete mow strip: $8–$15 per linear foot.

What affects price

Terrain, removal of an old fence, tree clearing, hard rock or limestone, gate count, permit complexity and access for equipment all affect final pricing. A free on-site estimate is the only way to get an accurate number.
